Life Coaching FAQ’s

Got Questions?  I've got answers.

Below are some commonly asked questions about Life Coaching.

What type of person employs a life coach?

Someone who is looking to challenge themselves and change their life by meeting their goals. Yes, everyone is coach-able.

What can I expect?

The coaching process involves the discovery session where you and I take a look at your present situations and identify areas you'd like to change. After the discovery, coaching sessions are focused on your goals.

Typical sessions range from 60-90 minutes. Once you've built a relationship with your coach, it typically takes between 3-6 months for you to achieve what you desire.  A variety of packages are available.

How does it work?

Coaching is generally one-on-one. It can be face-face, over the phone or online.

What is my investment?

How is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching is different from therapy in many ways.  It's a profession that supports personal and professional growth.  It is based on individual-initiated changes in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes (personal and professional successes).

Therapy, on the other hand, deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict within an individual or a relationship between two or more people.  Therapy outcomes often include enhanced emotional/feeling states.

Life coaching is future-focused. Its primary focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals in your work or personal life.  The emphasis in a coaching relationship is on action, accountability and follow through.

What should I look for in a coach?

The coaching relationship is essential. Therefore it is a good idea to find a coach that you “click” with.  A free consultation is a great way to determine if it is a good fit.

I recommend you find a coach that has experience working with the issues you are facing. Also, take into consideration your coaches qualifications and organization memberships. Testimonials are another great way for you to get a feel for a coach.
